A Soldier is a hero
who puts his or her life on the line
for us and our country.
Our soldiers in Iraq
face death everyday
not knowing if they'll ever see
their loved ones again.
The families of these heroes
pray and cry for them.
They all ask god to protect
their son, husband, father, or brother
their daughter, wife, mother, or sister.
In our family, we also have a hero
he's our soldier his name, Ramiro.
We are all proud of him
for believing in justice
for being brave and big hearted.
We all as a family
have grown more together,
we all miss him
and want him to come home soon.
But we know we must wait
we all know he's not alone,
there's other Soldiers by his side
who miss their families too,
we are the ones here that cry
but god says pray is what we must do.
Hope this year will go by fast
so our soldier can come back.
God will protect our soldier
he will watch over him every day and night.
We must pray for all those soldiers in Iraq,
Including the ones that have died
they all are our heroes,
but ours, our soldier is Ramiro.
Dedicated to all our soldiers who are serving our country. Especially all the men and women in Iraq our prayers go out to them, and for my cousin Ramiro, for he is the one who inspired me to write this poem. A soldier that is from my home town lost his life serving our country, this young mans name was Jeremiah, may god bless him and his family and everyone who knew him. May god bless all our soldiers.
