Ethereal Glow
Moonlight stealing between the leaves
as a fragrant breeze tousles them gently,
silver streaks flash into the darkness
and I wonder, oh just how far, how far?
Dogs cry out to one another in the distance
as a train whistle sings it's lonely tune,
while sitting here among the busy night
my treacherous mind harbors thoughts of you...
I hope your life is all you wanted it to be
and is working out as indeed it should,
though I can't help but recall when for us
this "time" held something far different.
Yet, that was then and this is now…
and they so very, very opposite indeed,
this heart now numb to your indifference.
Emotional fluctuations surrender, surrender-
Such uncertainty in this, my sanctuary…
Yet, let my soul dance amidst the twilight,
as accentuated imagery in the ethereal glow-
