When underneath forgotten sun
Did walk the now unfettered one
In mindful peace alone ?
And looking up, was this poor soul
Reminded then of common goal
In distant vista laid afar ?
Were forests here, where none lay now ?
Long laid to rest ‘neath common plough.
Upon the lands of old.
Whenever feet on feet are laid,
On this,
The passing through parade
Of time.
Then glimpses of forgotten worlds
Are laid, like layers, by those who stayed.
Did then the mammoth walk as free
In plain and fearless majesty
Unbounded 'neath a starlit sky.
