One VoiceThere is one voice that speaks for all of me. One voice . . for all my imaginings. How much better it would be if . . . when multitudes of thought spring, emblazoned upon the tongue, and draw the listener's ear . . they first held counsel with themselves. Then wisdom would trip from off the lips and platitude of thought would waken minds - astounded by the inner soul. Would crash upon the outside world to settle long ! Would soothe the wounded breast. Would play upon the minds of all around. Then, that voice, that speaks for all of me . . . would be . . . . . me. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
