A Chalice In A Palace
A chalice,
In a palace,
Would look
So very fine.
And a locket,
In a pocket,
Would jingle
All the time.
An actor
On a tractor,
Would be quite
A sight to see.
And an actress
On a mattress,
Would be just
The place to be.
An adder
On a ladder,
Would give
Everyone a scare.
And a weasel
With an easel,
Would make
Everybody stare.
A friar
In a choir,
Would be rather
Fat and round.
And a poodle,
With a noodle,
Would waddle
On the ground.
A ticket
In a thicket,
Would be
Difficult to find.
And a cable
In a stable,
Would be awfully
Hard to wind.
A swallow
In a hollow,
Would shelter
From the storm.
And a genie
In a beanie,
Would be rather
Snug and warm.
A lizard
In a blizzard,
Would be so
Very cold.
And a candle
With a handle,
Would be very
Good to hold.
A ladle
In a cradle,
Would be
Surely out of place.
And a jacket
In a packet,
Would fill
An empty space.
A jelly
In a belly,
Would be
Very, very sweet.
And a toffee
In a coffee,
Would be
Rather nice to eat.
A rabbit
In a habit,
Would look
Extremely queer,
And a dragon
With a flagon,
Would fill my
Heart with fear!
