i am tired
and when i'm tired i lay down
simple
i bloody my knees and as i am injured
i wash my abrasion and bandage it up
simple
isn't it all?
our eyelids start to close
and we let them fall
we taint our hands with blood
and we find someone on whom to blame it all
simple
we are simple people
we feed our hunger and yet we are still hungry
we bed our weary bodies and yet we are still tired
we nurture our own wounds and then we pass them on to others
and the hole we keep trying to fill
becomes more vast and empty
complex
we are so complex
and I am so tired
so when I am tired
i will simply lay down.
