The Secret Of A Smile.What's behind it, do you know? The smile just sitting there, Looking so relaxed and calm, Like she never had a care! What's in her head, do you know? What she's thinking of today! What's she hiding behind that smile? Look to her eyes, what do they say? Can you see the foreboding look? Does she look happy, or sad? What's concealed behind her eyes! Can you see her life – so bad? Does she hide it well, do you think? Can you see her fear deep down? Is it really a happy smile? Can you see beyond her frown? Can you feel the fear in her? What does it feel like, do you know? Can you really see it all…? All that she doesn't have on show! What's behind her smile today? What do her eyes conceal? What is in her head and heart? What is she feeling – is it real? We can never know what's hidden, When it's not on show for all to see, We can only guess at things… When we have no insight - to she… We only know what they let us see, For it's all hidden out of sight! She will never let it be known, How she cower in fear each night! Hiding in the corner of the darkened room, A pitiful sight to see, a sight so sad, Hiding her hurt and pain from the world, Pain from an abusive life so bad… What's behind her smile? Do you know what secrets are hiding there? Would you even want to know…? Or would you rather not care! The secret of a smile – ‘tis true, Is not always what it seems to be!
