Selfish My Heart

Upon former, luxury thee ravish
in times of old thee profoundly did woo
Upon thy current, trinkets thee lavish
practical with sincerity so true
Doubt I never thy sweet intension spent
yet heart beats heavy with my secret kept
Deeply I ponder thy future intent;
thy lasting gesture I long to accept
Selfish my heart to want thy former's chance
not reveling in, this, the present state
This hurt be not known if not for thy glance
in those years before now that mark this date
O' cry that I might yet be thy Missus
still that I long for thy love and kisses
