View From My Window
End of Summer
This is the last day
of summer,
the last day to feel a warm breeze
upon my lips,
kissing softly my eyelids
as I sleep.
The leaves are turning
red and gold,
I breathe in the last of
summer's warm breath,
and wait for Autumn to
drive in from the South,
where the geese and purple martins
bathe in sunlit pools.
of summer,
the last day to feel a warm breeze
upon my lips,
kissing softly my eyelids
as I sleep.
The leaves are turning
red and gold,
I breathe in the last of
summer's warm breath,
and wait for Autumn to
drive in from the South,
where the geese and purple martins
bathe in sunlit pools.
