The girl with the basket, or rock unto the world

If love is stopped, then all will stop.
If hate is given eyes, we must shut the blinds.
If fear is given solitude, we must give presence;
and know unto the forces that rock the world.

Rock the world, and it will rock with you;
the butter and bread are simple things,
like shelter and divided rain,
like home and darkness and stopping rain.

Footsteps sound in the hall, no other noise.
A raven on the roof sings for his supper.
A wren on the fence calls to its companion,
a girl with a basket skips home to supper.

The girl with the basket waves hello
to the raven on the roof,
and can carry on a conversation.  She skips
with ease and knows the ground will remain
solid beneath her,
and rocks with the world as it rocks with her.
