Words
I thought about bright words of how it used to be
I thought that it would be easier to fill the silence
only easier for me not you...
Well I guess no matter where you are life will go on
I just couldn't bare to see you leave
so I blocked out everything you ever meant to me
I thought about sad words to bring you down
but love found you and I knew it was true
so I back away with the words still in my pocket
because we had our shot and ours was a improbable dead end
I wish it was as simple as sure we can still be friends
but that would be just another lie
just another distraction to putting things in their place
of being utterly unhealthy and torturing what is already burned
words are so easy to say
one day I want to say I have learned and really mean it
I want to really understand empty promises that I left
but until that day I can only come up with
is these words....I release you to be happy
because that is what you deserve
I won't interfere in the future
I promise not to mess up your next chance at love.
