( I wrote this when y daughter was in high school, and I have had wild stallion easier to train than this child was. To this day she lives life like she has no responsibility that she needs to honor, but she does have an eleven year old son.)
Parents Dream
Many have dreams of family
where perfection rules supreme
Raising the perfect children
life within a happy dream.
Yet the years rush on by
like a pebble rolling down a hill
Children age in years
like a ripen field yield
Nightmare rise above your head
to bring reality down
The troubled years of teens have arrived
like Jack without his crown.
All children seem so different
no matter what has been done
There is always one who is hostile
and then the stubborn one
Yet then the is the shy one
always for you to see
They mold perfectly together
to be one family.
But, no matter how hard you work
what miracles worked out of hand
One seem to be the bad guy
while the other plays Sir Galahad.
The rise to adulthood
would seem to change the scene
Yet, if one stay within your home
you are always cramping their scene
The trouble seems to follow
no matter where you go
The consolation that they won't follow
is if it is your time to go.
Then they paint a picture
of the wonderful parents they loved
No more nasty remarks to be said
for they are now looking from above
Would it be nice
if the Government would install
A parent protection service
at the beginning of every fall.
