Answer me not for that is how it is,
For to you I am just a shadow on the wall,
An infliction of unwanted love,
Repelled like a bad smell that lingers.
Destine to be ignored for all time,
Alone with my fears and pain,
Yet here I stay beside you,
Embarked on a journey of sorrow.
Foul to the misery of greed,
You want it all but give nothing,
I receive little if any,
Tomorrow next month next year the same.
Remain I will for my heart is yours,
Locked with the key you hold,
As once you loved me as I you,
Those vows I took I set in glue.
For my smiles I call upon my past,
Delivered by memories made to last,
So as you turn my smiles to frowns,
To the past I look to turn them round.
For richer for poorer in sickness and health,
For better for worse these words dear I spelt,
So now I'm a figure that's just there by your side,
I'll stick to those vows to the day that I die.
