Her Role To Play

Sometimes she feels like an actress
Performing life up upon a stage
The script changes before her eyes
Yet she knows it must be that way

In this, her empty theater
No applause or curtain calls
No one throws flowers at her feet
No spectators for the tears that fall

Just a legend in her own mind
No flash from the cameras today
A master of all the lines and emotions
Loneliness always the hardest to play

If you look you just may see her
There upon a stage you will find her now
With her perfect lines of mixed emotion
Giving you all of her as she takes a bow
