Chin UpChin up, smile on I start each day this way The sky is blue, the sun is hot I dream of you when you're away Laundry's done, dinner too My mind wanders, always missing you! Kids are fussing, what else is new. Telephone rings….is it you~~? It's like oh my God, have I lost my wits. No, Life is grand, TGIF, payday too! You say to me, “You know I've got to work and that means being gone.” So, chin up, smile on I start each day this way When I open my eyes and see your face I feel Gods' glory and his grace! It's off to work, with a kiss and a hug. Of course hot coffee in my mug. It's the little things, which mean so much The sideways glance, the special touch Chills that raise when you're near Turning to heat, feeling no fear You say to me, “It's about that time”, and then you're gone. So it's chin up, smile on I start each day this way Copyright 2004 Teresa Drew aka Daisy Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
