It can be hard living up North,
Particularly in the poetry trade.
It seems to be South of Watford
Where all of the rules are made.
If you're old fashioned like me
Very reliant on finding a rhyme
Speaking with an East Yorkshire accent
Can cause a very stressful time.
What works in Cleckheaton
As well as in Old Goole
Doesn't necessarily work
 In Croydon or in Poole.
What rhymes
With Geordie
Other than
Bawdy?
And if they live North of Perth
You can strive all you're worth
And you'll fail
Lamentably fail.
