Empty bottle.
Tears beat out a relentless rythm
Against his window to the world
A man trapped inside a bottle
A vessel to navigate regret within.
Hand held in a clench that is empty
Once grasped a meaning now long gone
Having slipped through unsteady fingers
Wet with tears from self pity.
Unable to overcome his own fears
He drowns within the comfort he sought
Sinking below to join with others
Entombed within their bottled tears.
