A Less Then Lovely Day At School

When Mother bought
Him to the door,
He screamed and rolled
Onto the floor.

He kicked the teacher,
Without care,
Then grinned beneath
His ruffled hair.

He tossed a block,
And yanked a book,
And gave a funny
Toothless look.

This small explosion,
With a smile,
Lashed his arms
And legs a while.

He stirred the room,
With push and punch,
Then dribbled drink,
While eating lunch.

At three O'Clock,
He waved goodbye,
The teacher gave
A weary sigh!

Joy Weare.
2nd November, 2004.
