After Each Visit
Where are you?
My heart feels not quite with me
I can not sleep there fore I can not dream
if I am dreaming, I am not in this reality
and I am certainly not alone, do you think so?
when you are gone the phone becomes my best friend
curled up on the couch talking to you till daybreak
you walk out the door with my heart
after each visit I feel sadness
because it's your presence I am missing
every second, every moment is one step closer
to seeing you again....
and every breath, every bit of laughter
is more than I thought I would ever enjoy
this unique relationship that flusters and joys me
as to why I feel so sad once you are gone
I have the courage to speak only after you leave
the words that flow from my heart's soul
I know I am in love with you
