MOURNING GLORY
My room so cold and lonely,
teardrops flood my eyes.
The rain outside falls heavy,
from dark and stormy skies.
I sit alone and ponder
on days that used to be,
but the only times I have now
are filled with misery.
I try accepting what happened
make plans for coming years,
but with each passing moment
only brings new tears.
I sit here by my window
with rain slowly falling,
as I close mourning eyes
I realize someone's calling.
I wipe the hurt from my face,
and bow my head to pray.
At last I turn to the Son,
who dries my tears away!
