M's Poetry

Better Than Never

You came, you saw, you conquered
you held your ground never gave up your position
your brute strength shined through the blood
but there never seemed to be a victory for us
I fought to hold you one minute, than to run like the wind
you fought my embrace and later we lost the process
that once surrounded a beautiful relationship
many battles was decided before we had a true say
who's to say who's ever right in the memories of yesterday
the love was strong but why didn't it calm my heart
I was just trying to be your woman, where did it all go wrong?
more than angry words....the silence is deafening
it's choking me....I need some air, some new found perspective
I want to know I tried before you left
better than never is the words you left on paper
the signature the final nail in the coffin
or a promise to return?
