The moment I held you
my heart filled with pride
I looked up at your Daddy,
and together we cried
From your tiny little toes
to your lovely dark hair
You were so beautiful, so innocent
Nothing could compare
So healthy, and so perfect
Everything I had prayed for
Your love is unconditional
I could never ask for more
You looked up at the world
It was all so very new...
I wished I could reach high
and give the stars to you
Nothing was ever softer
than your delicate skin
You didn't have a clue
of the fun about to begin
There was someone special
who couldn't wait to say,
"When will she be big Mama?
I want her to play!"
I hoped I'd never fail
to give the life you deserve
and suddenly I felt
like I had too much nerve...
To bring you to this Earth
It can be so harsh and cruel
Then I saw your strength and
I knew that you would rule
Everything about you was so strong
You were just like your Daddy
You had the prettiest eyes and face
You were also just like me :)
A perfectly blended mixture
of the love that we share
When ever you need us
We will always be there.
