Surreptitious StarSurreptitious Star Remember the star that lighted the Eastern sky that night. As the angels sang to Shepherds 'Twas such a Glorious Sight. "Fear not", the shepherds were told "Let your hearts be of good cheer, For born today in the City of David, A Savior who loves you so dear." The star lit the way as they journeyed To Bethlehem to see this new child. Humbly, they all bowed before Him, This Baby Jesus, so meek and so mild. The star also guided the Wise Men who had traveled hundreds of miles To bring gifts to lay before Him, This Innocent, Beautiful Child. The star shown in all of it's glory To light up the world, and proclaim With this boy born in a stable, The world would never again be the same. Look inside the star~~~you will see it, That plank torn from a piece of a tree, That this little boy would bare to Galgotha In a place known as Calvary. Celebrate the birth of this Baby with true love, and presents, galore, Remembering....from the beginning He would die for the sins that you bore. Look at that star a little differently When you see it displayed on that tree, There's a cross in that star, surreptitiously, To Gently remind you and me. To have a "Merry Little Christmas," And to "let our Hearts be light," But add a prayer to Our Father in Heaven For Jesus and His Glorious Might. karen 11-23-04 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
