A Salute of loveYou sit down by the side of spring Gushes out from the foot of a tall tree Amidst fragile and broken grass and herbs. You watch the descending orange red sun and the scarlet shadow on the waterfall Gentle quivering of the current. Go down on your knees, bend forward And drink the cold and pellucid water Drench you from head to foot. Kissing the turbulent spring Lip to lip like a delicious caress A bright ray glistened on your shoulder. A misty relaxing evening Fiery glow setting sun cast over the river bank All is joy all is charm. You welcome the cool autumn breeze Loaded with perfume of green grass With open mouth and expanded chest. You walk with long strides Very slender very tall- enveloped in Dark blue shawl with green border. What had been your life? A pale stare a terrible look A voice comes from beyond. A salute of love and care You will change your life To some other who is yet to born? Gopal Lahiri Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
