I once met a faerie,
he even did spare me,
who went by the odd name of Doogle
Even odder still, all this took place, in a land named Stroogle
And within this strange place
there lives this strange race
whom we all know as the "Wee Folk"
Dancing, their funny dances, like the Snuk and the Yolk
all of the day and all of the night
to their forgotten lil' hearts delight
And in this small town
you are forbidden to frown
Yes, where the Good People live
the oddities, you may have to forgive
But if, to them, you ever have mattered
Certainly do, consider yourself to be flattered
Now back to the subject of Doogle
who, by the way, was from the land of Stroogle
We talked and we laughed all of night
until the early morning light
of the fun and the games they do play
upon Twilight, Dawn, Dusk, and Mid Day
For these are the times that are "Tween"
and only then may the Fae be seen
'Tis a rule of the thumb
by all and then some
If ever the nice Gentry,
underneath a Willow Tree,
you should, upon passing, meet
Fail not, mind you, the simple respect of a greet
And if they ever do sing
"Come, human, dance within our ring!"
Accept, by all means, if you dare wish
and join their party, with a swish
But if you do so decline
with "other things" on your mind
We will say it is neither fear, nor fright
Be ever thankful in your words, if you will, if you might
Be even as gentle as a feather....
for they, upon a whim, are able to change our good weather
If you ever do happen across,
and if you do, you must be lost
a faerie that is called by Doogle
who, did I say?, is of a land called Stroogle
Please tell him I do say "Hello!"
and, futhermore, to "Have a nice day, Good Fellow!"
And if you are ever shown
where they joyfully reside, merrily tending their own
You must be ever ware
not to forget you came from, Where???
Yes, I understand, tis easy to get misplaced
Once their Magick, you've had a taste
Well, if you do remember, if you even do care
Take a gracious bow of leave, and go back there

I would like to thank the faeries in the tales that I have been reading all my life for the inspiration of this poem. Furthermore, I would like to thank the people who told these stories throughout history and in turn kept them alive, and then a thankyou to the people who took the time to care about writing them down and getting them published so that we may read them and, if your like me re-read them :), and keep them in our memories and our hearts forever. I am especially fond of the famed tales of Europe as the Irish blood runs strongly through my veins. If you do get the chance to make time in your busy schedules, please, grab a book of Tales and get lost within its world. Love Always and Blessed Be, Rain
