The Stranger
A woman and two children
in a tiny run down shack
her husband went out days ago
she feared he wasn't coming back.
A hard winter has set in
heavy snow upon the ground
and for her and the children
there was no warmth to be found.
She bundled them all together
and sang sweet lullabyes
Wanting to ease their cold and fear
hoping God would here her cries
Sleep came for the children
in that cold lonely room
and she cried out to Jesus
don't let this be our tomb.
She was hearing voices
but she thought them far away
And little did she know
miracles were happening this day.
She awoke to childrens laughter
those children were her own
and in that fleeting moment
her fears were finally gone.
For there sat her Husband
and a man she didn't know
He said this stranger helped me
I was almost lifeless in the snow.
How can we thank you
He said,"give thanks where its due
For the Angels in Heaven
were watching over you."
He walked to the door quietly
said it was time to go
We went to wave goodby
there were no footprints in the snow.
