Two Stars
(A Christmas Poem)
One Christmas night they made Him known
By brilliant lights in glory shown
With twinkling passage -- Joy in words --
Proclaimed by speech, so, yes, its heard
Throughout the earth as witnessed song
For all who saw do sing along
With one bright star above the rest
One Christmas night that God so blessed
To shine its light for all to see
The lowly trough where Christ would be
Soon risen from the world of sin
To shine His song of love within
And so the star of God's first choice
Had marked His birth and angel's voice
Announced to shepherds near and far
“Come see the Christ ‘neath yonder star!”
But, still, one star that fell from grace
Had tried to take the Christ star's place
By rising up within the sky
As Morning Star and star Most High
But God said, “No!” and cast it down
Now, o'er the Babe just one star's found
Rejoiced by Christians all around
Who know the star's still shining bright
For in their hearts God's still the Light.
Merry Christmas,
Lighthouse Bob
