A moment of expectation
within each wandering mind
A place for each happening
even when set out of time
No orders do we witness
of which we do not expect
For life will always be measured
for the moments are its rent.
A surprise can be disastrous
to break the moments calm
Creating uncertainty
within the morning long
A shadow will fall over
the body of surprise
Rendering it in confusion
so they never will surmise.
What story is told about the deed
that plans and comes on its own
Digging furrows within our peace
outside of our control
To render peace on it way
Rising the level true
Always bringing something different
surprising always you.
I walk a cultured path of flora
within a garden of life
Watching the plants being tended
while sun and water bring life.
I know all the blades of grass
for I count them every day
But! mysteries upon my open door
those differences won?t let me play.
I see a blind man without a cane
he navigates life within its flow
A deaf person listens to music
that the hearing will never know
A child who quotes Shakespeare
a monkey who plays chess
And I am the doll upon a shelf
because there is no time left.
I watch the grains flow forward
my fate rest within
I have never asked a question
for I know not where to begin
For I fear the outside more than life
no footsteps can I see
I flail away out side my door
eradicating all of the weeds.
For were we to go to nowhere
to see what's never been found
Here I sit in familiarity
acting like an ignorant clown
For I watch the parade pass my door
afraid to step up and join in
For all I had to do
is follow a foe or a friend.
Then the world would bloom to life
the perfume of newness so bold
Living the life of childhood
where nothing really grows old
For newness is the path of hope
that guides us on our way
To find a place in destiny
where Humanity can always play.
