Good Bye
She lies on the floor
Body, bloody and broken
Her virtue still intact
is her only precious token
Breathing in slowly,
Several ribs are cracked
Eyes shut tightly,
Both have been blacked
Silently she cries,
yet, tears do not fall
"Just take me now"
Her only whispered call
Begging herself quietly
to "Please don't move"
Lest there be something
else for him to prove
Until she can be certain
Patiently she will wait
Harvesting within her
a new breed of hate
Finally she hears it. . .
Hushed rhythmic breathing
She painfully unfolds
her insides are seething
Across the room, she stares
Peacefully he is asleep
Cut his throat right now
Do it quick, slash him deep
Serenity passes in a wave
She will not let him win
Spitefully she retains the murder
So as not to commit his sin
Crucial agony searing
throughout her brain
Each and every movement
flushes her body with pain
Fearfully touching her head
the hair falls out in clumps
In its place now, nothing
but swollen, tender lumps
Biting down on her busted lip
Fighting her screams, she cannot weep
Stealthy as a jungle creature
Back down the hall, she must creep
No place here is safe
No where to run or hide
She'll lie awake in bed
Until the mornings tide
Her only protector and savior
Clinging dearly to her knife
If that door opens again,
She intends to take his life
How can she face them all
if tomorrow ever does come?
An awful mess, she is now
With what she just came from
A brave decision she makes,
Gathering her torn rags
As if it mattered, she neatly
Tucks them away in her bags
Without so much as a peep
She slips through the door
Good Bye old life, she says
Good Bye Forever More
