Fingerprint on my heartYou left your mark, A finger print on my heart, A memory of your love making art, Casting shadows in the dark, Of where love seemed to start, With the sunrise as we have to part, You left your mark, Like a fingerprint on my heart. Another face may someday light a new flame, But they can't cover the trace where your love will remain, The other lover may someday hold me in the dark, But your finger print will still be on my heart. Behind a invisible wall I'll cry in vain. Tears will always fall like the rain, But it will never put out the flame, Or cover your mark, A fingerprint on my heart. Other love won't be the same, In the dark I'll call your name, You left your mark, Like a finger print on my heart. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
