He was different from others,
In his choice of friends and lovers,
Some would call his life a disgrace,
But he's still a life in this human race.
There are those who see a skin color,
And hatred is all they taste,
God has made the world a rainbow,
With each of us a different face,
The word peace is a rainbow we chase,
As we turn from our brother's embrace.
She is different than who I would be,
I don't expect her to change for me,
But I know,
She has a heart and a soul,
And hatred leaves a bad taste,
I look though the haze,
and into her face,
She is different from others,
In her choice of friends and lovers,
Some would call her life a disgrace,
But she's still a life in this human race,
If only the world discovers,
How to embrace sisters and brothers.
Sometime this world seems so out of place,
When peace is only a rainbow to chase,
With each of us a different face,
We are all a life in this human race.
Someone picked up a gun and took aim,
Leaving someone laying in the rain,
with tears and prayers of their mothers,
Because they are different from others,
Remember when our flag is raised,
We are all a life in the human race.
