We search for freedom
under the life we see
Freedom that is different
from that which might be
A reflection cast
on all who walk by
Is it the freedom of self
that we still hear cry.
A cloud of dust
in foreign lands
A heavy heart
from freedoms stand
Yet impose we do
on lives that aren't free
Reflections of our dreams
upon ancient history.
To walk the sand
never knowing why
The promised search concluded
to everyone Else's eyes
Yet, we still remain
upon shore not our own
To mold unto our dreams
never allowing their own.
Who be the dictator
with armies so strong
To tell all the people
that their culture is wrong
The blood of the innocent
on both sides do lie
Upon the hands of the old
who make policies from them to die.
Freedom a tolerance
of what others are
To live with each other
sharing ideologies from afar
Casting no shadows
on the sunshine they seek
Just sharing ideas
making us strong from the weak.
I see a glimmer
within the eyes of Man
A destiny chased
over millenniums spans
Where others may be
who are nothing like us
We could live in a community
of thought spiced with trust
So bring back the soldiers
work for tomorrow to see
The lives of our children
to chase down destiny.
