Sandcastles in the sky

With the glistening speckles of my dreams
And with my wishful ideas and hair brained schemes
As I chuckle of all those might have beens
My self-esteem becomes a natural high
As I build sandcastles in the sky

The little blue bucket and spade I have by my side
I bashfully bury my head in the sand to hide
And even though my first attempts fail, I know I tried
I learn from my mistakes, and now I know why
Because those sandcastles never last in the sky

The sandcastles are a colour of red not yellow
Because my blood is stronger than any fellow
Although I have Quick temper for a man so mellow
But I am comfortable being a man who can cry
And so I continue to build my sandcastles in the sky

The blue sky above mirrors the sea
And the seagulls circle around me
And the cool, fresh seaside air makes me see
That if I put my mind to things and try
I create the most beautiful sandcastles in the sky
