An opening in the meadow
where grass does bend and sway
The taste of honey upon the wind
the perfume of Valentine's Day
A smile from a shy boys passing
a girl her cheeks so red
The contentment within a mothers smile
or the smooth voice of father instead
The love of things that are alive
or what has passed before
But, the love of someone who is not known
is where Valentines cards are for.
A little pinch of personality
a laugh or giggle loud
A small box of candy
or flowers to tell them wow
A gentle kiss upon a cheek
the rushing of sudden breath
A feeling of warmth within your heart
that one day time will find to cement.
A hand clasp to a lover
a wish upon the wind
The stars that shine within all eyes
when Valentine's Day begins.
