I'm A Poet Ya Know!And this; Written for the first party of my entire life! But wow!! What a party it was!! This is a very special day for me – And it has to be celebrated! Cos this poet's published all over the world! And is feeling so elated! I'm feeling all emotional ya know! Yes, I really, really am! But I'll try and tell it as it is – Without crying, if at all I can! First I wana thank you lot for coming, To this party of mine…! To help me celebrate my goal in life! Achievements for me till the end of time! I've been writing poetry most of my life, As most of you probably know! But horror, shock and wotsits!! Me works all over the world, on show! In the book you'll read many a tale, And have empathy throughout! You'll walk the walk of many, Some good, some bad - no doubt! For as many trials in life there is – Some people's lives are hell, And as you read of the different plights, You'll laugh and you'll cry as well! My dream has always been… To be published all over the world, And now that dream has come to pass, And my words are being unfurled! I think I'm in a bit of shock! Cos it's got totally out of hand! I didn't know it would be a big thing, But it's on sale through out the land! Blimey, it's on sale in 11 countries! Yep, that's 11 don't ya know! In all them book shops, all my words, For all to see on show! But what can't speak can't lie! Cos cor blimey it's the truth! So I'm having my first ever party!!! And you lot are the living proof! Not everyone can realize their dream, And I never thought that I'd see mine! But now my words are all on show, Until the end of time! And when at night pain keeps me awake… Me brain gets all prolific, So up I sit at me computer machine, And go to bed at times horrific! But sleeping isn't easy ya know! Not when you're knackered like me! So I have lots of time to spare, To write me poems out you see! One night me brain fried, it nearly burnt out, And I got hit by lightening! Cos a bolt out of the blue hit me hard – It was really pretty frightening! I had to have an eye job though, Cos they went all red and droopy too, Yikes! I couldn't see, oh dearie me – I didn't know what to do! It's taken a lot of time ya know! And no, It wasn't an easy a thing to do, Cos me bum's gone numb many a time, And me toes turned purple-blue! I went gozzy eye'd and blurred me vision, And me fingers all got bent, Cos of all the ruddy typing I did, But them computers are heaven sent! Cos if I didn't have a computer, Then oh cor blimey what would I do? I'd have writers cramp forever, And me words might not come through! No wonder I'm bent when I walk, Well, I call it the walk from hell, But you'll see me do the wheelchair rock! Cos I can do that as well! So it was time for me to rock and roll, And jive all round the floor! Have a blast and dance all night, Cos that's what this party's for! But hey, I did it, I really did! And now I've got a great big book! And if you lot don't believe me…! Cor blimey, just take a look! The ‘Inglesby's' name's in black and white – For the entire world to see!
