Elegy
1.Crow by the road
I am the crow with awkward cry
and lumbering gait.
I am dry, scraggly feathers,
plumped for warmth,
picking at flesh, dead for days.
2.Rebuke
Don't trust me with your heart.
I fear a dire outcome.
You see, I am unfaithful to flesh,
not my own.
3. Seagull in flight
I am the seagull
casting shadow,
a graceful, watchful, ghost.
Can you feel my touch,
or remember my sigh?
I suppose everything fades.
4. eulogy
A voice is not a voice
when it no longer speaks.
I've been silent now, dead for days.
Mary
