Take Hold of My Hand

I wrote this for a patient who was quite ill in hospital and wanted it for a special friend.

Your manly strength and powerful support,
Has brought confidence to me!
Through the trials and troughs of troubled times,
You've been really great, you see:

You were there when frustrations were eating me up!
You were there when I wanted to run.
When I was unsure of the right thing to do,
Your smile lit me up like the sun.

How can I say what I mean with words?
Words only come from the lips.
Take hold of my hand and feel what I mean,
Through these trembling fingertips!
