can we be friends???
after all that's been said and done
unleashed emotions, teary eyes
unharnessed, razor sharp tongues
can we be friends?
find a meeting place somewhere
a safe place for memories and feelings
that we use to share
can we be friends
redefine our roles
and move on, peacefully
respecting each others wishes
no longer a couple,
just a you and a me
can we be friends?
laugh and talk together
sharing details day to day
openly and honest,
after the dream got away?
can we be friends?
i can't help but wonder too
can we make this work???
look deep inside for the answer
no one can say but you!!!
