Letter from a Soldier's Wife
I am all alone,
now that you're gone.
In need God's peace,
and strength to carry on.
I prayed you wouldn't leave,
now I place you in God's hand.
As you're off to fight a war,
In a God forsaken land.
I prayed you wouldn't leave,
I thought I'd die that day.
I hope that you'll come back to me,
Let this nightmare go away.
The children send their love.
They ask about you every day.
We are all so very nervous,
so all we do is pray.
I pray that you'll come home,
I want you here with me.
Here inside my loving arms,
that's right where you should be.
My love is always with you,
and nobody can take that away.
Lock my love inside your heart,
Until we meet again someday.
