We are sitting in the trenches,
bombs exploding all around.
I am terrified for my life,
as I hear the screaming sounds.
Bodies all around me,
I can't believe what I see.
I am terrified to think that any moment,
one of those bodies could be me.
I fight the war with bravery,
yet my heart is full of fear.
I can only hope and pray to God.
that the end of the war is near.
