See the world through my eyes

Unsolved Mystery

Troubled times...
They don't get along...
You wonder why their married...

They had two children...
They watched them grow...
Her dreams will soon be burried...

One Night at a bar in 1979...
She's not alone...
With her friends she had been drinking...

Mike walks in...
Decides to talk...
I wonder what he's thinking...

They left the bar...
And we don't know...
if Patty was alone...

You see my friend,
the tragedy is,
she never made it home...

Cigarette butts,
and empty bottles,
were there where her body laid...

Face down upon a tomb stone...
on a cemetery grave...

Stabbed 108 times...
What was her killer thinking?

I think the killer,
was the one,
with whom she had been drinking...

Good Friday she was taken...
Brutally from this life...

It's never yet been proven..
But I think he killed his wife...

Now 25 years later...
no murder weapon found...
Her killer still walks free...
somewhere, He lurks around...

Her children still want answers...
They will be so very sad...
If the truth is ever uncovered...
I think it was their Dad...

I really hope they solve...
this age old mystery...
It isn't fair while she lay dead...
her murderer walks free...

Update 2017.. I met Mike and dated him when I was 17. I wrote this poem many years ago.. This is no longer an unsolved mystery.. After decades, evidence was reexamined and he was found guilty!!
To think I spent a few years with this man, when he was enjoying his life walking free.. How I wish I would have known then what I know now.. I am lucky to be alive..
