My Voice
Giving Up
Giving up
Comfortable in my own skin,
finally.
The meek inherit nothing.
She is proof of that.
Bury your son, bury yourself.
She wants salvation
but it doesn't come neatly wrapped in a Little Debbie box.
We are more than our parents.
We are more than our sons.
We do not stop breathing when someone else does,
( unless we choose to).
Complicated,
don't label me
if you don't understand my motivation.
I am my mother's daughter,
or at least who she was.
I am a source of life.
Choose me.
Mary
Comfortable in my own skin,
finally.
The meek inherit nothing.
She is proof of that.
Bury your son, bury yourself.
She wants salvation
but it doesn't come neatly wrapped in a Little Debbie box.
We are more than our parents.
We are more than our sons.
We do not stop breathing when someone else does,
( unless we choose to).
Complicated,
don't label me
if you don't understand my motivation.
I am my mother's daughter,
or at least who she was.
I am a source of life.
Choose me.
Mary
