Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

Because bad things seem not to happen to you

Do you remember the game?
The toil, the trouble, the running back and forth,
These cat and mouse games that seldom cease to exist?
Don't you remember the
Crushed emotions you stepped on?
The game! I know you know recall it,
Though you give a look of absurdity
When I bring the mention of it around you.
To you,
It's like it never happened.

Do you remember how I lost every time?
I know you do, beat me down
Until my very being was practically diminished,
Till I was a mere casing of my former self,
Till I was scarcely coherent.
Come on, surely you recall my defeat?!
Right? When I would concede and cry for hours on end,
While you sat there, beaming with pride for my hurt.
To you,
It's like it never happened.

Do you think it's still the same?
That I sit here, day in and day out
Getting belittled and disregarded.
Is it still the same? The same
Song and dance that I do to get your mere approval?
Isn't it the same, the way I get ensnared
By your deception, while you falsely promise change?
I'm right to assume it's the same.
To you,
It's like it never happened.

Do you think it's truly sublime?
That you have the power of manipulation
Of someone barely able to stand on her own
For fear of being shoved to the ground.
Are you proud of your exploitations of who I am?
Isn't it sublime that you control me
And put guilt on my shoulders,
Because maybe you can't handle anything?
To you,
It's like it never happened.

Because bad things seem not to happen to you.
