Ramifications
ramifications
ramifications resound
in echoes of a silent wail
with familiar resonance
yet unfamiliar clarity
today,
she discovered herself
tightly woven
in the fabric of past choices
in a composition of cloth
designed by her own hands
maligned under her own words
defined by societal boundary
refined with conscience
although, threads of indignation
sparkle with passion
they all but hide,
over shadowed by inlays of resignation
The prospects she wears,
her mother wore before her
in a different pattern perhaps,
but with the same heavy sigh
Mary
