My World, My Words

Taken For Granted

The friend we take for granted, we all have one
The one we never talk to when we want to have fun
The one we will talk to all night long
Just to dump our problems on
Never considering their situation at all
We know they better answer the phone when we call
So that we can yell our head off and rant and rave
Or cry our eyes out and whine and complain
Subject our “friend” to all of our pain
Making them just as upset, driving them just as insane
And when all the crying is done and the tears wiped away
Your “friend” disappears on you for days
Even though you might have more to say
Or try to send some of your bad feelings their way
So you try calling them on their cell or at home
But they are always out or never answer their phone
So you get the feeling of being used
Like if you don't hear them cry then they wont talk to you
You start to feel depressed and lose self worth
Because you can only help your “friends” when they get hurt
Your not worth hearing any good news
Only for helping the change their bad moods
So you start to care less if you ever hear them speak
You want to show them they cant walk over you, that you're not weak
So you wait for the next time they call you in a panic
You barely listen to as they raved and ranted
You don't care that their mood goes from depressant to manic
Because you will no longer be taken for granted
