Living Strength

Our hips of evolution strain
under weight of humanity and pain,
upon joints and limbs of womankind,
a nurturing of ties that bind
to foster spirit that life wrought.
A creation that cannot be bought.
Emerge in strength, the blessed beat,
the rhythm of life that we repeat.
Painful push to reach outside.
A challenge of endurance and pride,
to leave the all encompassing womb,
where life is but a tiny room,
comprised of nourishing placental good,
to partake of all that we should;
then breathe alone the air of strife
to face the cold or dark of night.
In fear emerge a tiny head,
the knowledge we're alive, not dead.
In breath and spirit life unfold.
The cries of living strength, there told.
