Why do you stay with your lover,
when you have been very mistreated?
When you give your all for the sake of love,
and you're left feeling quite defeated.
This person you are with,
is very manipulating.
Making you hate the life you live,
his effects are devastating.
He melts away your self worth,
each and every day.
Because you stick around to tolerate,
his horrible wicked ways.
Chance after chance you give him,
What will it take to make you see.
He has no intention of changing,
it's time to set him free.
When you are gone,
he will finally see.
The pain that he has caused,
and how he destroyed his family.
Sometimes it takes a person,
to lose all and sink real low.
For them to see the light,
and to know the direction in which to go.
You really don't help a person,
when you allow them to be abusive to you.
When they have nothing left and all is gone,
they will regret what they've put you through.
Don't wait until tomorrow,
don't tolerate abuse for another day.
You need to get out of that relationship,
Love wasn't meant to be that way.
