Musings by The Poet Loriet

The Peaceful Canyon

Free Spirit
In your glory
The cool air invigorates you
and drives you...
your face with
flushed, pink little cheeks.

On a high,
heart racing
from the hills you've climbed~
rocky, jagged cliffs.

Exhausted,
we reach the peace place,
unscathed beauty,
a semicircle,
smooth rocks.
You can almost see the faces
of those who've been here before.

A trickle of a waterfall,
big brown eyes taking it all in,
cool circle of water
at our feet.

Dark, pretty eyelashes
not daring to blink
Jubilation
Meditation
God's beauty
Evident in nature
bringing awe
to a six year old's
wondrous heart.
