The difference
There are many differences
Between me and you
And sometimes it makes me wonder
At the thing you get up to
We are the proverbial
Chalk and cheese!
I live my life happily
(Almost) doing as I please
Whilst you, well?
That's another story
‘Cos your life
Is a rose garden, too thorny!
Your thoughts
Are not the same as mine
And I often have to say
What issues is she facing, this time?
Because we think
So differently
The things you do
Seem really crazy to me!
Why?
Well you may well ask
I consider your choices
Are too hard a task!
I think you have taken on
More than you can chew
But it's your life
So there's nothing I can do
But then again, on reflection
You may say to me
The things I do need
Some real hard correction!
So who am I to criticise you?
For my life is just as mad
Though so different from yours
And for that I am so glad!
So now for the point of friendship
Cos that's what we ‘re here for
For though we are so different
Our friendship is strong and sure!
So continue pruning those roses
And cut those thorns away
And sure enough in the future
You'll be able to pray
Pray for your deliverance
From the garden of thorns
And open that door
To a beauty which adorns
To a future of love and security
Have faith in what's to come
Open that door my friend
Because it's there, that a surety!
