Ioney: The Golden Fairy Child

4/11/05

Ioney is a tiny one
Who flits from flower to flower
She's hunting for a special place
To be her evening bower

She has gold wings upon her back
Her face is all a glimmer
If you dare to notice her
She starts to shake and shimmer

She wears a lovely dress of lace
With lots of pearls galore
Although diamonds are really nice
She thinks they are a bore.

Ioney likes the gleaming ones
Like Rubies and Sapphires
Because there's life within those stones
They have a certain fire

The crystal necklace round her neck
Throws rainbows in the air
It brings the butterflies in close
They nestle in her hair

Ioney Fairy has such grace
She's full of love for all
There's never anger on her face
Even when she falls

For she is learning as she goes
Just what the fairies do
She isn't very old you know
And lessons, they're a few

She has to learn to jump and fly
To learn to soar and dive
To learn what dress she needs to wear
And how to stay alive

Ioney is a tiny one
The flowers love her so
That everywhere she dares to flit
The bluebells lets us know

They let us know when she is sad
Or when she laughs with glee
All the folk in our sweet realm
Want her to happy be…
